Pan Software is pleased to announce that BreastScreen Victoria has selected R3 to manage risks, incidents and regulatory compliance.
The risk of a woman being diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime is 1 in 7. Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer amongst women in Australia. Notably, age plays a significant factor; about 80% of the diagnoses involve women aged 50 and above. Yet, the disease doesn't discriminate against youth: nearly 1,000 women under 40 were diagnosed in 2022 alone.
On a daily scale, this translates to 57 Australians receiving the daunting news of a breast cancer diagnosis – summing up to an annual total of over 20,000 cases. As we move through 2023, projections suggest that more than 3,200 individuals, including 30-40 men, will succumb to breast cancer.
Distressingly, the data indicates that every week, we lose a young woman under the age of 40 to this disease, leading to a daily toll of 9 Australians.
BreastScreen Victoria provides the state of Victoria with screening services (mammograms) for breast cancer. Breast screening is known to be most effective in reducing breast cancer deaths and the impact of treatment among women.
Pan Software is pleased to announce that BreastScreen Victoria has selected R3 to manage risks, incidents and regulatory compliance. We look forward to working with BreastScreen Victoria to ensure they are provided with a best-in-class GRC system to help with their important mission.
